Feedback from Professionals

Thanks again for everything, all of everybody’s help has made a huge difference to my life. I feel a lot more confident in being able to handle what life throws at me. You guys are amazing!

Former client

Nothing but positive feedback for you. You have been brilliant with ** and the support you have offered him whilst he is struggling has no doubt kept his quality of life as good as possible. You are always responsive and communication is great.

Supportive Living Services have been providing care for several of our clients for many years.

During the time I have worked with them, I have found them to be extremely professional in their approach.

I have always found that they provide a very good service to clients with enduring mental health difficulties.

Their accommodations are very homely and all the service users that I have worked with have been very happy there.

Staff at Supportive Living Services will always alert secondary mental health services if they are concerned about a service users mental health.

They maintain close contact with all professionals and will ensure that the service user has regular physical health check.

They have daily activities which all services users are encouraged to take part.  This includes daily exercise and they always promote healthy living.

I would fully support anyone who is considering a move to SLS.

Feedback re your service:

Always happy to assess and give our service users the opportunity of a placement even when there may be some challenges in their presentation and history.

Participation in planning discharge from hospital – discussion with clinical teams . Offering period of leave and settling in time.

Individualised support plans and risk awareness and management.

Compassion and empathy towards service users.

Very tolerant if there is a risk of placement breakdown and working jointly with community teams/ agencies to   avoid  ending  placement where possible.

Strong relationship with the IFT which in turn supports good communication.

Always open to suggestions and advice when reviewing placements.

In other words – you are fab!!! Hope this helps – all true by the way. I could give examples.

My client ** has now been in SLS for several years.

I have always found the staff to be extremely supportive, and flexible in their approach when dealing with my client.

Staff demonstrates professionalism, and a very good knowledge of mental health.

** has been difficult to engage with and has required a lot of support and encouragement due to the debilitating effect that his mental illness has had on him.

The staff have always had the time and the patience to work with my client and develop a very positive therapeutic relationship.

My client has appreciated the placement, and was grateful to be able to return there after a very long admission to hospital.

Nstep have always recognised how good the accommodation is, and when other clients are assessed for supported accommodation by IPC, we have asked if others can be considered for placements there.

In my capacity of Operations Manager for NHFT’s Individual Funding Team, I have worked with Suzette since October 2018 when Supported Living Services Ltd first started up. My role is to receive requests for funding from colleagues, for support packages with SLS, and to recommend funding approval from the Northants Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Mental Health Commissioning Manager. As such, I have had no hesitation in recommending the approval of such packages, for the following reasons:

  • When SLS first started, Suzette was welcoming of quality assurance checks, by the relevant Quality/Contract Monitoring Officer/s, and was entirely open and transparent about the nature and scope of the service to be provided.
  • Suzette had a track record of delivering a high quality service, prior to SLS starting. There was therefore an established confidence in her ability to deliver high quality supported accommodation.
  • Suzette has been realistic, when setting the weekly cost of support packages, and has been happy to set costs in line with existing CCG contracts held with other providers.
  • Suzette has been extremely accommodating, in considering the complex circumstances of some Service Users to enable a Service User to move from another supported accommodation into an SLS property.
  • Suzette has gone ‘above and beyond’, in seeking to meet the complex and challenging needs of some Service Users, without making excessive demands of the respective funding authorities.
  • Suzette has consistently considered, and offered support packages, to Service Users who have been declined by other providers. At times, this has led to challenging situations in the SLS properties, which Suzette has managed with her characteristic competence.
  • Suzette has been prompt, in responding to referrals, and quick to provide feed-back following assessment of a Service User’s suitability.
